"At BodyTech I call on trusted, highly skilled Supervised Trainers to help me reach my goals."
"I've had to deal with all sorts of injuries and operations over the years ranging from back stress fractures to leg alignment surgery. The one thing I've learnt is that I never had enough guidance or professional advice when I was doing fitness training.
"If I had done, I could have avoided a number of heart-breaking injuries, especially during my professional cricket years. For years I would train alone hour after hour, over-stressing my body in all sorts of ways. In the end it cost me dearly.
"In the years since I gave up playing professional cricket, I've made several lifestyle changes in my determination to embrace the "now" and move onwards and upwards, both professionally and personally. One signifcant change has been how I work out to prevent new injuries and avoid aggravating old ones. I chose to go to BodyTech where I train three times a week, using both Personalised and Supervised Training Services because I knew BodyTech would give me the best professional guidance to ensure I avoid further problems. Better still, I can enjoy many physical activities as I move through middle age.”

"What makes BodyTech so different? Fast results and safer workouts."
"Karate used to be my favourite sport but its physical nature really took a toll on my body. Barely being able to walk up a set of stairs without immense pain , I was forced to give it up when I was only 25 and unfortunately all my other exercise and fitness also went straight out the window.
"A few years later, after having three children, I took up netball about the same time that I joined BodyTech. Painful knees, wrecked ankles, bone spurs, elbow pain, neck problems, shoulder injuries, hip pain, and extra weight were issues I had to tackle to enjoy my new sport. Initially I started on the supervised circuit and the improvements were astoundingly fast. I still have pain but the trainers understand my needs and tailor my training programme to suit and I am now stronger and leaner than I ever have been. BodyTech trainers, I feel, are genuinely interested in my wellbeing.
"People often call me a “gym junkie” but are surprised to learn that I work out only three times a week for less than an hour at a time. The benefits of being a member have been huge for me. I intend to be trotting off to this gym when I am old and grey."

Neil rehabilitated his ruptured discs with Body Tech’s Supervised Spine programme.
"Achieving balance with family commitments, work demands, good diet and exercise is central to energising ourselves to excel. It's a strange thought that by exercising we actually gain energy - we have better focus and more fun. Being fit, strong and healthy is a real buzz and feeds our ability to achieve wellbeing. It’s great when we can get an internal ‘high’ from a 40-minute jog; our bodies naturally produce 'happy' endorphins when we raise our tempo. How simple is that!
"When I ioined BodyTech in 2003 I had never been a gym member before. I was overweight and cautious about what I could do, given past injuries. But after a year and feeling a few kilos lighter, I decided to aim high and get into triathlons – my first was the New Zealand Ironman Triathlon 2005. Just four months before the event, I fell off my mountain bike and ruptured a couple of discs in my lower back. People were quick to say I couldn't or shouldn't do the Ironman. But armed with a great plan, lots of passion and excellent support - especially from BodyTech staff and the core strength machines and lap pool - I made it to the event and experienced one of the best days of my life.
"Afterwards I worked really hard to fully recover my back, again using BodyTech and lots of pilates and yoga. I decided life's way too short not to experience the thrill of Ironman again - so I went on to do New Zealand 2007 and the Japan Ironman 2008. What a BLAST! We have one shot at this life - so go strong, exhilarate, excel and really live! Never ask 'can I do it?' Just make a start and BodyTech really will help you get to the good bit faster."

Tina lost 18kg in six months.
"After I joined BodyTech in October 2003, I initially worked out on the circuit then decided to see a Personal Trainer so began training with Rob Geraets September 2004.
A little time later I restarted at Weight Watchers, so together with a sensible diet and seeing Rob regularly plus at least one cardio session on my own, I lost 18kgs in 6 months. When I reached my goal weight I trained to become a Weight Watcher leader and now take four classes weekly. I have maintained my weight loss for three and a half years. This may sound like a cliché but joining BodyTech initiated a major turning point in my life. I have struggled with weight since I was in my early teens so finding an exercise routine I love and a trainer who cares has been instrumental in this major life change. The other things I love about BodyTech are their friendly, helpful staff, and the fact that you can get a complimentary breakfast at the Mt Eden BodyTech on Mondays and Tuesdays.

"I've been going to BodyTech for more than 10 years and am probably one of the longest standing members."
"BodyTech has managed to keep me loyal with its excellent staff, facilities and exercise programs. Over the past decade I have discovered the benefit of training regularly with my personal trainer, Jonas Spricigo. The encouragement and challenges he sets with each session certainly make me work at an intensity that helps maintain a good level of fitness and tone. We often vary my routine so I don’t get bored. He concentrates on specific exercises to focus on core strength, cardio, toning and flexibility. He challenges me with balance and coordination exercises as well, keeping me mentally alert and physically well. It’s great to have an instructor who recognises my ability and works with me to achieve my goals."

"My BodyTech membership is definitely the best health insurance for me."
"I am a fulltime mum to two children, Jarrod and Victoria. When Victoria turned one I felt it was time to do something entirely for me, that was going to stimulate my body and mind, get me out of the house and away from the shops! I needed to mix with like-minded people, in a healthy environment. A close friend introduced me to BodyTech Fitness and Spa in Mt Eden and the rest, they say, is history.
"For me, it’s the endorphine rush I get from BodyTech that keeps me coming back. I feel both physically and mentally on top of the world after every workout . This natural high drives me to attend four times weekly, I just love it. I have also met some very special people through BodyTech and have found the social networking extremely rewarding.
"My current Personal Trainer, Jonas always gives me 110% support. His encouragement and coaching continues to ensure I achieve my goals, and look my best. On the other days I just use the cardio and supervised training areas. Thhere’s always a staff member close at hand if I need any help or motivation. Exercise is a huge part of my life now."

"I am continually surprised that short sessions can be so productive."
"I’ve been a BodyTech member for about seven years now. After experiencing a range of gyms since I was 16 and finding that I was so often paying fees and not attending because I was not motivated, lacked time or felt uncomfortable, it was a really nice surprise to come across BodyTech in Mt Eden. FTheir system of having multiple trainers on the weights circuit all day every day means I can stay focused and move through it in less than 30 minutes.
With so many staff available for free ,BodyTech has created a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where I feel comfortable and not intimidated. I have also started using a BodyTech Personal Trainers to focus more on my exercise and I have found these short sessions really productive.
The icing on the cake for me has to be BodyTech Mt Eden’s commitment to cleanliness. Our changing room has an incredible Steam Room and Sauna that are relaxing and detoxifying.

"I'm a better, happier, calmer, healthier person than I used to be."
"I had been a smoker for 25 years and hadn’t exercised in 15 years when I walked into BodyTech eight years ago. I’d battled with a bad back for a decade and had spent thousands on professional treatments for it. My diet was horrendous and I’d always struggled with exercise.
"I think the first class equipment, lovely clean changing rooms, sauna, steam and pool are what enabled me to get back on track. But if the truth be told it’s the personal touch and ongoing encouragement that has enabled me to stay and make exercise and relaxation a regular part of my life. It’s just a nice place to be. It’s now several years since I smoked a cigarette, my diet has improved and I haven’t had any issues with my back for years. I feel fantastic all day after a workout. I am a better, happier, calmer, healthier person than I used to be and I wouldn’t change it for anything."

"I find BodyTech inspiring and effective because you have a trainer every time you work out."
Being a young father of three young daughters, the husband of a wife who runs her own business and involved myself with people basically 24/7 as a pastor of a large church in Auckland, working out is a real challenge. I used to play rugby at a reasonable level so fitness has always been important, but obviously family are a huge priority so I need something that is efficient, enjoyable and not going to take much time. I do value fitness, but generally it is the first thing to make way for other pressing matters. I find BodyTech inspiring and effective because you have a trainer every time you work out. They call this Supervised Training. It's like having a personal trainer but it’s free. I love being pushed so the trainer, I find, is really beneficial. BodyTech definitely works for me!"

Barbara improved her strength, bone density, lowered her medication and improved her muscle tone.
"I’m in my 60s, and for the past 25 years Jane Fonda’s workout video has been my mantra. It wasn’t until I read Dr Miriam Nelson’s book ”Strong Women Stay Young”, that I realised Jane wasn’t really doing it for me. Post menopausal, I now know I need resistance training not 80’s aerobics. I came to BodyTech Gym because I had heard members were all shapes, sizes and ages - even over 90 years , so being a first-time gym goer was not intimidating for me.
"I also liked the fact that I didn’t need fancy gym gear. Initially I joined BodyTech for just three months, committing to three supervised circuit workouts a week. The circuit has turned out best for me because I’m never left to my own devices. Being under the watchful eye of a trainer definitely makes me feel safer, and it makes the exercise more enjoyable. In a matter of weeks I noticed an increase in my strength, stamina, and body shape. I’ve also been able to reduce the medication that I take for an imbalance in my endocrine system.
"When I joined BodyTech I hoped to improve my strength and bone density. The added benefits of resistance training have come as a wonderful surprise. For my heart and soul, I appreciate the fresh flowers, the cleanliness of the whole facility, and my 10 minutes of relaxation time in the sauna and steam rooms after my workouts. I love my new level of fitness, Thanks BodyTech!

"BodyTech gave me strength where I never had it before - in my lower back."
"It’s hard enough to get motivated to go to the gym let alone find the rhythm to be consistent in your training. When I started at BodyTech, I was a little concerned that the supervised circuit thing was just that, a circuit. I guess it conjoured up thoughts of jazzasize and Richard Simmons. How wrong I was, the circuit and workout card system was a real revelation. At BodyTech you really can’t escape being pushed, the circuit to me is like having a personal trainer on every machine,. Not only is the weight adjusted without you knowing it, your technique is closely monitored and your progress noted on your workout card.
"Soon I was introduced to supplementary exercise machines and I felt as though I had graduated to the big time. It was then that I realised the smart people at Body Tech had managed to take me unwittingly through a system that gave me strength in my lower back which I had never had before. I now use free weights but believe it was the supervised 30-minute circuit that gave me the overall strength and tone I have today.
"Several years of supervised training at BodyTech have taught me so much about my body and safe exercise practice. The fear of a caring trainer’s eye spotting not-so-productive form encourages me to try to have perfect technique every time I work out. The strength and knowledge I have achieved at this club has given me the confidence to push myself harder than ever before."

"Two to three visits to the gym a week - 90 minutes total - can make all the difference."
"I've been on the other side of 30 for a few years now, so I’m not looking for the latest fitness craze to frantically follow and then forget. I’m looking for healthy living patterns that are effective and sustainable. BodyTech has provided that, with programmes that can change as my ability and my timetable dictate.
"In my previous job as a medical doctor, I saw first-hand the devastating results of people who failed to find a life balance that included regular exercise. The tragedy is that such a balance isn’t hard to find – 90 minutes a week, spread over two or three visits – can make all the difference. Now as a college dean, I am determined that our students learn the importance of finding that equilibrium. The BodyTech staff have been brilliant at inspiring them to do that – even coming on-site to hold tutorials and fitness sessions for all shapes and sizes.

"Managing my arthritic pain is so much easier now."
"I joined BodyTech's office staff in August 2001. Previously I had not considered a gym as I was active in my sporting pursuits which played a big part in my life. That is, until I was diagnosed with osteo-arthritis. It was an extremely frustrating time in my life. Dealing with my diagnosis, my family and holding down a job soon became extremely difficult.
"My aching bones no longer allowed me the luxury of running or walking, so I had to resort to using the gym. It took a long time for me to get used to gym life and initially it was not satisfying. After mentally accepting the fact that changes had to be made, I finally started making progress. I began to enjoy my workouts, accepted the help and support of trainers and began getting results, which encouraged me to continue.
"Several years ago my condition had improved so much that my rheumatologist said I was one of her success cases. I recently had another check-up. My doctor was even more amazed. Strength training twice a week had improved my physical strength which helps to reduce the pain I experience.
An extra plus is I actually enjoy the gym now. I get a buzz after my work outs, I'm fit and I can eat what I like. BodyTech has taught me another route to staying healthy and active. And the staff’s genuine interest in my progress and goals has turned me into a gym bunny!

"BodyTech ensures I stay injury free and balanced, the perfect fitness recipe for a triathlete."
"I have been a BodyTech member for the last ?? years. I initially started coming to use the circuit, using the supervision for motivation. Soon after joining I discovered triathlon and got the bug big time! With the BOdyTech team's support I dived in headfirst, went on to complete Ironman NZ in 2007 and now regularly compete in the Half Ironman. BodyTech complements this perfectly, giving me a place to squeeze in lunchtime swims, and runs. The treadmill proved to be a real bonus in 2008 when the winter weather was so bad it made running outside difficult.
"BodyTech’s modern facilities also ensure I stay injury-free and balanced. I maintain my balance by using the steam room and spa pool regularly. BodyTech has been a one-stop shop for me, which saves me a lot of time now that I have a young family and a fulltime job."

"With physical strength comes a feeling of inner strength and confidence."
"I used to be an out-of-shape, stressed out mother of three young children. I was going through a difficult time personally and my life was hectic, I felt I was stuck in a rut. I decided I needed to do something for myself. As someone who had forged notes at school to get out of P.E. I was pushing boundaries just walking though BodyTech’s door, but it was the best thing I ever did!
"I started off with a trainer on the six-week Fat to Muscle Programme and the results I achieved spurred me on to continue training. I also started boxing which was fantastic for stress levels. I would literally float out of the gym feeling serene and at peace with the world. am now completely hooked on resistance training and pushing my limits and I love the sense of achievement after a tough workout. Of course there are still days when I would love to have a note to get out of a Personal Training session but I have learned to focus on how great I will feel afterwards. With physical strength I think comes a feeling of inner strength and confidence which spills over into everyday life. I know I have reaped the benefits."

"It’s about belonging to a club that has values, actually that’s probably the main reason why I’m still there."
"I’ve been a member for 10 years and joining BodyTech was one of my better training decisions. My main passion is martial arts which I spend too many hours at. However today I don’t recover as fast as I did when I was younger or the urge to flog my aging body 24/7. However I do have a secret that keeps me ahead of the game. It's BodyTech - for three good reasons:
"It’s also about belonging to a club that has values which BodyTech certainly does. Actually that’s probably the main reason why I’m still there."

"Having insulin-dependent, Type 1 diabetes does not get in my way."
"My motto is 'Control the condition, don’t let it control you'.
"I have lived with Type 1 diabetes for several years, and I have never let it get in the way of my professional and athletic goals. Recognition for sporting ability and achievements has enabled me to use my diabetes in a positive way to help encourage and motivate people around me. Training at BodyTech is one of my best ways to stay motivated. I have always accepted new challenges, especially when it comes to sport. I love competitions, and work hard to be the best I can be. The need for support, supervision and understanding from health and fitness professionals is essential. No one can go it alone!"

"The BodyTech experience is very individual. There’s no sense of 'mass exercise' which is probably why I've been a BodyTech member for over 10 years."
"At my age, I know I need to undertake a regular fitness regime to enhance my general health. But for it to be sustainable over the long term, this fitness regime needs to fit in with my lifestyle. The fact that I still attend BodyTech regularly shows how well their Supervised Training System complements my lifestyle.
"Supervised training is a winner in my book. It avoids the empty experience of exercising on your own and is similar to personal training but is part of BodyTech's reasonable standard membership cost. Helpful, knowledgeable staff set my exercise machines, make sure my technique is correct and work with me to plan specialised exercise programmes to achieve my personal goals.
"I also love the fact that the hours are convenient, the equipment is modern, well maintained, and always available and there is no sense of 'mass exercise'. The BodyTech experience is very individual with all programmes tailored to members' personal goals, health and fitness levels. Staff quickly learn new members' names and engage with them on a personal level."

"I love BodyTech’s intelligent approach to exercise. Shorter, harder, fewer workouts definitely work for me."
"Sport has always played a big part in my life, especially tennis and skiing. Both are physically demanding, more so now that I’m in my 40s. Joining BodyTech in 2003 wasn’t my idea. The membership was a gift from my wife Sarah wwho was already a member and Raving Fan. Sarah believed BodyTech’s personalised systems would suit me down to the ground and she was right.
"My friends have often said they don’t like gyms, often because once you're signed you up and they take your money, you’re on your own. At BodyTech, it's the opposite. You’re not just another number and the staff care about you. They want to know your goals and your injury history. Regardless of whether your workout is the Supervised Training Circuit or free weights, BodyTech's qualified trainers help you set your machines, check your technique and motivate you to do better every time you visit..
"I've worked with several personal trainers over the years and these guys are the crème de la crème, professional and motivational. A big heads up to Chris and Jonas. Thanks to you, I still foot it with guys 20 years younger than me on the tennis court Most people think I spend hours lifting weights at the gym and are surprised to learn I work out for just 30 to 45 minutes, three times a week. I love BodyTech’s intelligent approach to exercise, shorter, harder, fewer workouts work for me."
